On Thursday, July 7, the Association of information and communication technologies (TICOSONA), held a breakfast ICT, with the theme of the novelties of the new European Data Protection Regulations.
 

The event consisted of a presentation given by the lawyer of Vic, Pere Rius Alonso, a partner at TICJURIS, S.L.P. LAW FIRM explaining to the participants what the innovations for the new European regulation consists of, as published on May 4th in the EU official journal and which came into effect last May 25th, although it’s application won’t take effect until 2 years.
The new regulation directly applies to all of the EU States and will replace the current Legislation on data protection, focusing mainly on the central purpose of effective protection of personal data and putting the emphasis on the responsibility which lies on the companies and organizations with their treatment of data, focus on it from the design and by default the protection of those affected.
The Conference has been extended to treat other users ' rights and obligations of those responsible for processing, making also reference to the current situation which has arisen with the invalidation of the Safe Harbour, by sentence of the CJEU. This invalidation has put data transfers made in countries outside the EU in a situation of legal insecurity.
